Discover the Sound of Street Violater
StreetViolater is a bilingual rapper, musician, and activist hailing from Hyderabad, renowned for his impactful lyrics and socially conscious music. His musical journey began as the lead vocalist of the band Street Mafia. After the band disbanded, he embraced the stage name "StreetViolater" and became a techno DJ. In 2012, he made a pivotal shift to hip-hop, which became a powerful medium for his artistic expression and social commentary.
His debut single, "My Doll," quickly gained popularity in Hyderabad’s underground hip-hop scene, positioning him as a rising star in the Indian hip-hop community. Subsequent tracks like "My Stupid Wine" and "We Want Justice" further solidified his prominence. His music reflects the struggles and inequalities within his community, touching on vital issues such as violence, economic disparity, drug abuse, and flaws within the legal system.
StreetViolater’s breakthrough track, "Rajyam," became an anthem for the marginalized, tackling social and economic disparities, law enforcement corruption, and the challenges faced by ordinary people. Building on that success, he released "Rajyam 2.0," which expanded his critique to encompass the failures of India’s education system, political corruption, and the difficult circumstances of farmers.
In 2020, he released his debut EP, "Maranam" (meaning “Death”), further establishing his connection to his roots. The EP features tracks such as "Yudham," "Arthanadham," and "Maranam," delving into themes of struggle, mortality, and empowerment. Collaborating with well-known artists like Anurag Kulkarni and Chandana Balakalyan, as well as producers VenkiMusic and Abhishek Kenji, StreetViolater’s music has become a voice for the voiceless, advocating for social change and empowerment.
He also partnered with Universal Music India for the track "Jeevan," part of the Sterling Reserve Music Project, marking a significant milestone in his career and broadening his influence in the industry. Having performed over 300 shows across India, including major performances in Mumbai and collaborations with artists like Emiway Bantai and Naezythebaa for Breezer Vivid Shuffle, StreetViolater has gained recognition from major media outlets such as The Times of India, Rolling Stone India, Thisis50, and The Hindu. In 2024, he made an impactful appearance at TedXHyderabad, showcasing his evolution as both an artist and cultural leader.
Continuing to expand his reach, StreetViolater collaborated with Garena International Limited on a track for FreeFireIndia, working alongside top hip-hop artists like Ikka Music, Brodha V, Kidshot, Cizzy, and Sez On The Beat. This project further established his role as a key figure in uniting India’s diverse hip-hop community.
With tracks like "Vaagvaadham," "Sanki," and "EE Sannivesham," StreetViolater persists in challenging societal norms and leveraging his music for activism and social consciousness. Drawing inspiration from his environment and his influences, he firmly believes in music's potential to raise awareness and inspire change.
As he looks toward 2025, StreetViolater remains committed to breaking boundaries, expanding his influence, and nurturing a culture of recognition and respect for all artists. He embodies more than just a musician—he symbolizes a movement dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and fostering positive change. United, we win.
